THE  GENESIS OF OUK’S TRAVAILS:AN OPINION

VAILS:AN OPINIONI merely  wish to do a  brief profile  of  the genesis  of Orji Uzor Kalu’s  travails in  order to put matters  in perspective.After this  brief profile, there may be a  need to do an elaborate  analyses in order to carry everybody  along .
It is not exactly  correct to say that OUK’S travails  started 12 years ago i.e in 2007 when he served out as Governor of Abia State. Long before  he served out as governor, he was already in the cesspool  of crises  as the anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), was  already investigating  his  alleged financial   infractions. This can be corroborated by the following reports in the mainstream  media in Nigeria.

I  feel reluctant to write an in-depth and elaborate  report on the travails of OUK.It’s a sad commentary on how  a man who is so richly blest by Providence, or so, can commit political suicide, so to speak  for the simple reason that he is consumed  by  pride, arrogance, hubris and loquacity.
In 1999, OUK was the most eligible Nigerian of IGBOI Extraction to be President  of Nigeria on the grounds of his popularity ,  connections  across the  geographical  zones coupled with his humongous wealth and young sage. But before 1999 Presidential season, OUK had squandered his political  capital  on the grounds of untrammeled  pride, arrogance and braggadocio underpinnings.
Last two years, I had written a treatise in which I called on OUK to apologize to Ndi Igbo on the grounds that he fluffed the opportunity  of becoming the first Igbo to  be Executive President of Nigeria in 1999.When I  published the analysis on my face book, a top member of the face book family advised me  to discontinue the discussion.I acquiesced  and moved on.

 In conclusion, I want to state that  ORJI UZOR KALU(OUK)  was conferred the traditional title  of MAI-YAKIN KATSINA(Warrior of Katsina) by the Emir of Katsina on Saturday, 12th March2005.So, OUK is a turbaned Chief in the Caliphate.
Perhaps, there is a need to emphasize that OUK is not the only politician of IGBOI extraction that talked himself into crises on the  basis of pride arrogance and swashbuckling dispositions. Some other Igbo politicians  had their  upward  move in the  political  trajectory  cut in mid-projectile  because of their  penchant  for combativeness and swashbuckling proclivities.
