THERE WILL BE SMOOTH TRANSITION IN IMO=GOV ROCHAS OKOROCHA-AMEN, AMEN, AMEN, ALLELUIA

GOVERNMENT OF IMO STATE
PRESS RELEASE
SUBJECT: GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA SAYS THERE WILL BE SMOOTH TRANSITION IN IMO
-AS JOINT TRANSITION COMMITTEE MEMBERS PAY HIM COURTESY CALL
Governor Rochas Okorocha has assured Imo people and the general public that there will be Smooth Transition in the State on May 29, 2019, stating that people should not be bothered about whether there would be Smooth Transition in the State or not.
The governor gave the assurance when members of the Joint Transition Committee paid him Courtesy Call on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Government House, Owerri, adding that the interest of every member of the Committee should be what could be done to move the State forward.
His words, “Let it be known to you that we all collectively own this State, and we have gathered here for the love of Imo State. We are here for what we can do to move Imo State forward. People should not be worried about whether there will be Smooth Transition because certainly there will be Smooth Transition. Rather we should be more focused on what we can do to improve on what we have done. That should be the major point of your concern.”
The governor remarked “The essence of transition is to make the incoming administration know the activities of the outgoing Government so that miscreants and hoodlums or criminals would not take advantage of the gap. So you need these pieces of information as much as possible to make the in-coming government more grounded in taking decisions and seeing where there are leftovers”.
He added, “Of course I do know that when there is no proper handover, accounts could miss and some properties of government would miss in the process. That shouldn’t be the case because at the end of it, Imo State would be the loser and not any individual”.
He continued “Government is a continuum, and when one stops, another takes over. This is a very important issue we must all know. Again, let me remind all of you seated here that you are all Imolites and the interest of Imo State far outweighs that of anybody. I wish all of you well. Make sure you succeed in this process of transition”.
The Chairman of the Joint Transition Committee and Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Engr. Mark Uchendu informed the governor that the Joint Transition Committee has taken off Smoothly and expressed gratitude to the governor for allowing the Joint Committee Members to use government facilities in carrying out their assignments.
Co-chairman of the Joint Transition Committee, Chief Chris Okewulonu also said that the Joint Transition Committee members had met and the deliberations were fruitful, assuring that the transition would be peaceful to change the old narrative and that the Committee would not disappoint Imo people at the end of the day.
